When you think of a Franciscan, perhaps you have an image St. Francis in the woods with the birds and other creatures. Maybe you think of St. Anthony holding the baby Jesus. I'm sure some of you saw a version of Robin Hood with Friar Tuck among the Merry Men.
And Conventual Friars have something in common with all those images.
We come from all kinds of backgrounds and different parts of the country to follow the poor man from Assisi.
We follow a course of study that has its roots in the academic work of St. Anthony, while keeping Christ close to our hearts.
And we like to have a good time, sharing a meal and a laugh with our fellow friars and whoever happens to be on hand.
Meet some of the Friars of our Province and learn about the work they are doing across the country and around the world. (Some of the photos have additional videos and stories linked to them.)
